Dr. Zahir Muhammad completed his Ph.D. degree in Condensed Matter Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2018. He worked in the Hefei Synchrotron Radiation facility during his Ph.D. during his Ph.D. After his Ph.D. he completed a Postdoc from Shenzhen University in the field of optoelectronic devices under Exchange Fellowship Program from the China Postdoctoral organization (2019-2021). During his postdoc work, he worked at the Institute of Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences, Poland as an Assistant Professor for one year. He is the recipient of the prestigious Outstanding research Student Award (2018) of the China scholarship council during his Ph.D. He is recognized as a Hefei High level talent in 2023. He contributed to a multi-disciplinary research framework from materials synthesis and properties to applications. His main research on:
1) Crystal growth of transition metal dichalcogenides, topological and Weyl semimetal
2) Angle-resolved Photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES)
3) Phonons and Excitons in 2D materials
4) Optoelectronics and Spintronic devices
5) Topological and 2D materials based spintronic devices
In the recent five years, he has published more than 60 papers including 27 first or the corresponding author in highly reputed journals including, Nature, ASC Nano, Nano Letters, Advanced Materials, 2D Materials, Nano Research, ACS Applied Materials and interfaces etc., and 2 highly cited papers; and other pending articles. The total citation shown in Google Scholar is > 1288 having 1213 since 2019, with an h-index of 14.
